 Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles

Enriching the medium as America’s first all female mariachi ensemble, Reyna de Los Angeles® bring sensitivity, beauty, warmth and vivacious spirit to the historic art of mariachi.

Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles® has blazed the trail for female mariachi musicians. In a musical landscape where songs are often written by men, from male perspectives, Reyna has created its own history.

Established in 1994, the group had a strong beginning thanks to the mentorship of Lola Bertran, La Reina de La Musica Ranchera. In these early days, Maestro Jóse Hernàndez saw the potential in this all-female ensemble, and fostered the development of the group. Reyna de Los Angeles® has since gone on to record three albums, share the stage with world-renowned musicians like Vicki Carr, Guadalupe Pineda and Lucha Villa, and perform for some of the world’s highest profile celebrities including Tom Cruise, Oprah Winfrey, and Barack and Michelle Obama.

Mariachi Voz de America

Established in July of 1995, Mariachi Voz de America has had the privilege of entertaining audiences both locally and internationally. They have accompanied a number of international recording artists and have appeared in most of the local television stations and radio stations. They represented the City of Los Angeles in a two-week tour of Jalisco, Mexico in the annual Encuentro del Mariachi International Festival. They were representatives of the Mexican Folklore Culture in a six-week tour throughout France.

Trio Ellas

Trio Ellas

Trio Ellas, Latin Grammy® nominated sweethearts of Los Angeles, have been making waves with a unique concept. Their sound is a result of years working with traditional mariachis blended with each members’ own personal musical background. There are elements of jazz, pop, country, as well as vocal harmonies reminiscent of the Andrews Sisters era. They describe themselves simply as “three chicas exploring the music we can make with a violin, a guitar and a guitarron”.

The young trio is composed of Suemy Gonzalez (violin and vocals), a graduate of USC’s prestigious Thornton School of Music, Nelly Cortez (guitarron and vocals), a fourth generation mariachi musician and recreational pilot, and Stephanie Amaro (guitar and vocals), a versatile musician who performs and records in genres ranging from mariachi to electronica. The girls’ high level of musical proficiency has allowed them to circumvent stereotypes and work at a world class level, with a professional track record that includes recordings for artists such as Benjamin Gibbard and Lady GaGa, and live performances with a myriad of top artists ranging from Sheila E to Lila Downs.

Past performances include a sold-out concert at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre, the Hollywood Bowl, the Nokia Theatre, the MALI awards honoring Senator Hillary Clinton, the 2012 Democratic National Convention, and tours to Japan and Colombia as well as features in the Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Latina Magazine and NPR.

Trio Ellas’s debut album entitled “Con Ustedes…Trio Ellas” achieved a nomination for best ranchero album at the 2012 Latin Grammys, and their most recent release entitled “Noches Angelinas” broke the top 15 in the Latin Pop Billboard Charts and the top 10 on iTunes Latino within the first two weeks of its release.
